5. Non-Immigrant Visas and Status Adjustment Services

F1 Visa: Student Visa (Including I-20 Application and Maintenance)

F1 visa is the most common student visa in the U.S., applicable to international students pursuing full-time studies at schools, colleges, language institutions, and other academic programs.

  1. I-20 Application and Maintenance: Students applying for an F1 visa must obtain an I-20 form issued by the school and maintain full-time student status to keep the I-20 valid.

  2. Off-Campus Work Restrictions: F1 students are generally limited to on-campus work during the first academic year. Afterward, they may apply for OPT or CPT for off-campus internships.

B1/B2 Visa: Business and Tourist Visa

The B1/B2 visa is suitable for short-term visits to the U.S. for business (B1) or tourism (B2) purposes, including attending conferences, business negotiations, visiting family and friends, sightseeing, and receiving medical treatment.

  1. Stay Duration: Typically allows a stay of 3-6 months per entry, with the exact period determined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

  2. Work Restrictions: B1/B2 visa holders are not permitted to engage in paid employment in the U.S.

J1 Visa: Exchange Visitor Visa

The J1 visa is designed for international individuals participating in exchange programs sponsored by the U.S. government or other organizations, including students, scholars, interns, teachers, and professionals.

  1. Exchange Programs: Such as university exchange programs, summer work travel, internship training programs, etc.

  2. Two-Year Home Residency Requirement: Some J1 visa holders may be required to return to their home country for two years after the visa expires before applying for certain U.S. visas or status adjustments.

H1B Visa: Professional Work Visa

he H1B visa is for foreign professionals working in specialized occupations in the U.S., requiring at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

  1. Employer Sponsorship: Applicants must have a job offer from a U.S. company, and the position must meet the specialized occupation criteria.

  2. Application Cap: Approximately 85,000 visas are available annually, including 65,000 for the general category and 20,000 for applicants with advanced degrees (master’s or higher).

OPT (Optional Practical Training): Work Authorization for Graduated Students

  1. Standard OPT: Provides up to 12 months of work authorization post-graduation.

  2. STEM OPT Extension: Graduates with degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) may apply for an additional 24-month extension, totaling up to 36 months of OPT.

CPT (Curricular Practical Training): Internship Authorization for Current Students

CPT permits F1 students to gain work experience through internships, employment, or practical training related to their coursework.

  1. Full-Time or Part-Time: CPT can be full-time (more than 20 hours per week) or part-time (20 hours or less per week).

Curriculum-Related: The CPT position must be directly related to the student's field of study.

Status Adjustment Services

Provides services for the conversion of non-immigrant statuses, such as F1 to H1B, H1B to B2, F1 to F2, and more. Status adjustments typically require filing forms I-539 or I-129 and complying with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) policies.

Extension and Visa Renewal Services

Offers extension and renewal services for non-immigrant visas, including B1/B2 visa extensions, J1 visa extensions, F1 visa renewals, H1B renewals, and more. We assist with application preparation, form completion, and communication with immigration authorities to ensure legal status maintenance.
